Lake Tahoe East Shore -
Stateline/Kingsbury. This area has a large proportion of the Douglas County population and contributes greatly to the county treasury through room tax revenues and business associated with the Stateline casino area. Located on the west side of the Sierra, it offers the most reasonable of Tahoe area home prices. Home locations vary from lakeshore level at 6,300' to over 7,500' and above at Daggett Summit and are a variety of contemporary and alpine styles with lake or mountain/valley views.
Roundhill/Zephyr Cove. Located just north of the Stateline commercial and casino center, these locations form the bulk of the population center with neighborhood shopping, schools, beaches and a range of home styles that covers all prices. Lake shore and high alpine types are well represented.
Glenbrook started out in the 1870s as a lumber settlement and sawmill site, providing timbers to the Virginia City mines. Tourism began when the Glenbrook Inn opened in the early 1900s. The area has evolved into the prestigious residential community based around Glenbrook Golf Course and the exclusive Uppaway, both having alpine meadow and lake front home settings.
Lake Tahoe North Shore
On the north shore of Lake Tahoe, are Incline Village and Crystal Bay. This area represents the most prestigious segment of the Tahoe area market, mostly due to the unspoiled surroundings and the amenities afforded by the Incline Village General Improvement District. Besides providing local utilities, IVGID regulates the community recreation facilities, the private beaches, tennis complex, Diamond Peak Ski Resort and two 18-hole golf courses.
Many different styles of home are present, ranging from ski chalets and condos to golf course homes and multi million dollar lakeside estates.
