Chambers Field/Center Valley

Chambers Field is an area of the central Carson Valley floor that generally lies East of Hwy 88, west of Tillman Lane and with Centerville Lane on the north and Kimmerling Rd to the south. Named after the original settlers, it is another part of the Valley that enjoys great views and low density of homes. It borders Gardnerville Ranchos to the east, but the remainder is surrounded by farmland, pasture and alfalfa fields. The area is easily accessed from Hwy 88 and most residents will do their shopping at the Gardnerville supermarkets or at the Carson Valley/Carson City boundary area big box stores. Douglas High School is 5 miles north on Hwy 88 and two Elementary Schools and one Middle School are 1-2 miles east in Gardnerville Ranchos. A few neighborhood convenience stores and restaurants are at the Kimmerling/Tillman intersection.

[mappress mapid=”18″ alignment=”right” width=”40%” height=”450″]About 1/3 of the homes in the Chambers Field area appear to have been built between 1990 and 2000 2000 and another 1/2, since 2000, so most of the homes are of contemporary design with fairly up-to date interiors. Lot sizes range from a 12.000sf to 1/2 +acre in one of several developments including Pleasant View, Silveranch, Rocky Terrace and Rainshadow Ranch. Some of these developments are still building new custom homes with prices in the upper middle range for Carson Valley.

Other parts of Chambers Field, often with homes built pre 1990, are on 1 and 2 acre lots, most being along the north and south sides of Kimmerling Lane and on 2-5 acre lots in the Marron Estates and Country Lane developments, amongst others. These are usually larger, custom built homes, often with horse facilities and with great views.

Streets in Chambers Field are quiet, with low traffic mainly being the neighbors coming and going from home, but with Hwy 88 to the west, access to the rest of Carson Valley, Lake Tahoe and travel to CA is very convenient.

Recent existing home sales in Chambers Field have ranged from $365,000 to $830,000, but when some of the 5 acre properties are on the market, prices could be higher.
